Great News: LVTC International Program Selected among the “China-ASEAN Higher Vocational Institutions Featured Cooperation Program”

From News Center (Text by Wu Hao from Office of International Exchange, Photos by Wu Hao from convergence Media Center) On May 16, LVTC’s “China-Thailand Enterprise Customized Training Program of Construction Machinery Localization Skillful Personnel” was selected among 76 applications from all over China, and was incorporated into the fifth batch of “China-ASEAN Higher Vocational Institutions Featured Cooperation Program” by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), marking the first internationalization achievement since LVTC adjusted its international development strategy and established the Office of International Exchange.

The “China-ASEAN Higher Vocational Institutions Featured Cooperation Program” is part of the “China-ASEAN Double Hundred Vocational Schools Strong Cooperation Flagship Program” implemented by CEAIE since 2018, which is supported and guided by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of China’s Ministry of Education, intending to implement the Education Action Plan for the Belt and Road Initiative. The program selects 20 featured cooperation projects between Chinese higher vocational institutions with counterparts of ASEAN countries every year. Aiming to build a long-term and solid platform for cooperation in the field of vocational education, the program encourages deep, multiform, and substantial cooperation between Chinese and ASEAN higher vocational institutions, and promotes the construction of the China-ASEAN vocational education community.

The “China-Thailand Enterprise Customized Training Program of Construction Machinery Localization Skillful Personnel” is jointly implemented by LVTC, Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd., and Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM). The program provides technical training for Liugong’s Thai branch and its dealers through the joint establishment of “Liugong–LVTC Global Customer Experience Center Thailand Branch”, and recruits Thai students to carry out contract training through the joint establishment of “Liugong–LVTC International Craftsman College of Thailand”, so as to continuously provide localized technical and skillful talents for Liugong’s after-market services. The program adopts the “Chinese + Vocational Skills” training model and carries out modern apprenticeship training through school-enterprise cooperation. Outstanding students will receive scholarships from LVTC and Liugong to study further at LVTC.

This program is coordinated and implemented by LVTC’s Office of International Exchange, with the full cooperation of the School of Automotive Engineering and the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Now, this program has completed the training and certification of Thai teachers, as well as the preparation and translation of trilingual teaching materials in Chinese, English, and Thai. “Liugong–LVTC Global Customer Experience Center Thailand Branch” and “Liugong–LVTC International Craftsman College of Thailand” will be officially inaugurated on June 8, and the first class of the order course for Thai students will be officially started at the end of June.

The selection of LVTC in the list of “China-ASEAN Higher Vocational Institutions Featured Cooperation Program” is a landmark achievement of LVTC’s insistence on deep integration with local enterprises, accompanying the “going out” strategy of enterprises and exporting Chinese vocational education standards and models, which provides an LVTC’s solution for vocational institutions to carry out overseas school running.
