CHINANEWS, Guangxi News, March 26 (Luo Shihua, Xu Juan) -- On March 22, the local standard of Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Technical code of practice for raw materials of pre-packed Liuzhou Luosifen processing Part 4: Sour beans, has been officially issued to guarantee the special flavor, quality and safety of the sour beans as raw material of Liuzhou Luosifen (river snail rice noodles). The standard was drafted by Liuzhou Vocational and Technical School (LVTC).

As an industry institute dedicated to empowering the high-quality development of Liuzhou Luosifen industry, the School of Liuzhou Luosifen Industry always values the participation in "standard-setting" as its first priority ever since its establishment.

On July 9, 2021, the government of Liuzhou launched the formulation of municipal-level local standard for Liuzhou Luosifen. LVTC reacted actively to the notice the moment it was released. After fully conducting investigations in enterprises and seminars and discussions, the School of Liuzhou Luosifen Industry requested the Liuzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce to submit a project application to the Liuzhou Municipal Bureau of Market Supervision to take a lead in drafting and formulating the Liuzhou local standard "Technical code of practice for raw materials of pre-packed Liuzhou Luosifen processing Part 4: Sour beans". On September 29, 2021, the project passed the initiation defense and was successfully established.

According to Huang Zimei, the main participant of the project and a teacher from the school's food testing teaching team, during the whole process, the school's PhDs and backbone teachers had investigated over 30 Lousifen production enterprises and had multiple discussions with the experts of units including Liuzhou Quality Inspection and Testing Research Center and Liuzhou City Agricultural Technology Promotion Center. In the end, the first draft was formed after several revisions.

"I'm so proud to draft the standard for my hometown's Lousifen," said Dr. Dong Riyue of the university's School of Environmental and Food Engineering, who is a typical Liuzhou girl and likes Lousifen very much. In 2021, she graduated from South China Agricultural University with a PhD in Vegetable Science and worked in LVTC. She was fortunate to be involved in the drafting and formulating of the standard for the processing of sour beans under the leadership of various veteran teachers, which gives her the opportunity help boost the development of the Luosifen industry in her hometown.

It is the first time for the School of Liuzhou Luosifen Industry to participate in the formulation of local standards in areas related to the Liuzhou Luosifen industry.

Technical code of practice for raw materials of pre-packed Liuzhou Luosifen processing Part 4: Sour beans is the first official release of the local standards in Liuzhou formulated by the university. In addition, the university is responsible for drafting seven other local standards of the whole Liuzhou Luosifen industry chain standard system, which will soon be validated.

Liuzhou Vocational and Technical College (LVTC) is among the Top 100 National Demonstration Higher Vocational Colleges and has been selected as National High-quality Higher Vocational College and "National Double High-Quality Plan" Construction Unit.
